Shadow Government is now available on DVD. This is a documentary that explains how surveillance can and does invade our privacy and rights. Surveillance can be helpful in catching criminals or terrorists, but who decides the definition of a criminal or terrorist. In this film several professionals explain surveillance techniques and how it affects our rights and freedom. Examples are illustrated in a simulated drama of a family man, John Wilson, who after his credit card was stolen, finds out how much of his personal information is being watched. A must see for all Americans to understand the reality of their personal information being watched, stored, and even bought by different groups without their approval or knowledge.
The professionals interviewed in this film are authors, technologists, military, and attorneys for surveillance based organizations. These professionals have one thing in common; they strive to inform the public about the hidden forces behind surveillance. They explain in great detail that our financial transactions, cell phones, internet searches, e-mails, and whereabouts are all under surveillance.
Shadow Government uses an example of a common family man, John Wilson, to show how the information collected on him is used against him. He is not a terrorist; he is a husband, father, and Christian. After his credit card is found stolen, his personal information is suspect and he is called in to the homeland security office for questioning. Not that he has a criminal background, but because he participates in pro-life meetings and receives e-mails from this type of groups. This example shows that whether we are considered terrorists depends on who is in control.
Shadow Government is NOT meant to scare viewers, but to inform them. This is no science fiction movie; it is real and happening right here in the United States. Most of us have heard rumors of our information being tracked, but now see the evidence.
